‘MIGHTY’ Mufulira Wanderers suffered their second defeat of the season after losing to Gomes in an entertaining FAZ Division One North Week 20 fixture to remain five points behind leaders Premium Sports.
This fixture was brought back owing to the renovations taking place at Shinde Stadium meaning the Week Three fixture will be played when the other teams will be playing their Week 20 games.
Sydney Phiri opened the scores on 19 minutes but Brian Kabuswe leveled matters for the visitors with a superb strike at the stroke of half time.
Mako Sinyangwe restored the lead after converting a spot kick in the 70thminute and Guldo Lubaba added another goal seven minutes later.
Progress Kalenga pulled another goal back for the visitors in the last quarter of the game but the home side held on firm to earn a victory over the Mufulira side.
Elsewhere, leaders Premium Sports maintained their 100 percent start to the season after beating Chambishi 2-0 to remain top of the table on nine while second placed Kalulushi Modern Stars and bottom placed Mining Rangers to a goalless draw.
Kalulushi are tied on seven points with Kansanshi Dynamos who beat Ndola United 1-0 in Solwezi.
Other results saw Forest Rangers record a 4-1 win over newly promoted Zesco Luapula, Nkwiza and Grinaker recorded a goalless draw as was the case in the game Chindwin Sentries and Blackpool.
FQM Operations inflicted a 3-1 win on Lime Hotspurs as Lumwana Radiants suffered a 1-0 home loss to Kitwe United.

And in the Southern Zone, SHAMAOMA MUSONDA reports that Nkwazi kept a tab ahead of the rest with a third straight win and this time away to Zesco Malaiti to enjoy sole leadership of the table with nine points from three games.
Nkwazi are three clear of second placed Kafue Celtic while Zesco Malaiti got dislodged from second position and went down to ninth.

Kafue Celtic recorded the biggest win in Division One this weekend after battering Young Stars with an emphatic which took them high up into second position with six points, their weekend victims remaining rock bottom with one point.

There was more misery for the electricity utility firm sponsored outfits as Zesco Shockers were wired by a lively Prison Leopards in a game played in Kabwe with the home team jumping into joint third with five points.
Other matches saw league new comers Petauke United recording a vital win over Mazabuka United, Zamcoal Digger beat Luena Buffaloes 1-0 as Riflemen edged Nampundwe 2-1.
City of Lusaka lost 2-1 to Lusaka Dynamos as Lusaka Tigers and Lusaka City Council (LCC) played out a 0-0 draw just as Paramilitary did when away to Livingstone Pirates.
