Arrows 2 Indeni 2-
RED Arrows yesterday survived a scare at home after coming from a two goal deficit to hold a charged up promotion side Indeni, subsequently throwing away a chance to go second on the MTN-FAZ Premier Division League table.
Going into this delayed Week Three game in Lusaka, Arrows knew a win would take them into second position after two of the three joint leaders before the weekend’s fixtures dropped points 24 hours earlier.
But Oswald Mutapa Jnr’s team got a shock with a double strike from the visiting Ndola side in a space of seven minutes, leaving them reeling.
Indeni’s rampaging striker, Djunese Kalombo Kanda hit a stunning first half brace, silencing the partisan crowd.
Kanda delivered the first blow in the 27th minute to leave the stadium in silence.
As the fans were trying to get their voices back, Kanda struck again as this young Ndola side searched for a first win.
Despite the setback, Arrows kept their self-belief and managed to hit back just before the break through junior international Shadreck Malambo.
White Simwanza completed a comeback on 67 minutes but this Mutapa-drilled side had to live dangerously as Kanda came calling and on more than two occasions, Arrows needed luck to salvage a point in this game.
Indeni picked up their first point of the season while Arrows remained undefeated with five points from three matches.
