Kwacha fall factors

ONE of the factors some economic experts have cited for the current dismal performance of the Kwacha against major international currencies is the seeming inconsistencies in economic policies.
The government, therefore, would do well if it started addressing that by ensuring that policy pronouncements and implementations were in line with its adopted positions.
Contradictions and good economic performance do not move side by side.

POWER TARIFF HIKE FOR MINES

THE recent increment in the power tariffs for mining houses is a step in the right direction and should be supported by all, including mining investors.
The hike in the tariffs would help Zesco realise meaningful revenue for its planned development projects to ensure increased power supply to all.
For a long time now domestic consumers of power have been complaining that most of the tariff increments have not been affecting the mining houses, despite consuming more electricity.BRIEF-CASE
