Kafubu restores water to Ndeke

KAFUBU Water and Sewerage Company (KWSC) has restored water supply to upper Ndeke Township in Ndola after the 20 years without the service.
KWSC Public Relations Officer Margret Zulu said in an interview  the area  now had supply after a long time.
An on the spot check in the area yesterday by  the Times found water flowing at taps in some houses while other taps were completely dry.
Ms Zulu said the restoration of water supply in the area came after the company replaced the old pump at Sky Ways water pump station.
“Water supply has improved in the area,  stable water supply has also been restored in some areas in old Ndeke after the pipes were replaced,” she said.
Ms Zulu said the water pressure in the area had improved and that the company had put measures in place  that would help the company mend pipes that would burst due to pressure.
She said the company would continue with the programme of improving water supply through different projects.
She said the construction of water kiosks   in Kawama Township in Luanshya was nearing completion and that the project would be commissioned soon.
Ms Zulu appealed to customers to pay their water bills on time to enable the company   improve water supply in the area.
She however, called on all customers   with queries to always seek assistance from the customers care services.
Kezias Phiri of 1276  upper Ndeke said  water had  started   flowing through taps in his  area  but  that it was  rationed.
But Martha Nakamba of 1238  upper Ndeke claimed there was no water in the area but usually  saw staff from KSWS digging out old pipes.
