THE Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) will today hold its non-elective annual general meeting (AGM) in Kabwe to plan ahead.
ZCU president Reuben Chama said in an interview yesterday that the AGM would help the union to review past performance and plan for this year on how to continue developing the game of cricket across the country.
Chama said the AGM would also ratify the appointment of auditors Silas Lumba and Company for the years December 2012 and 2013.
“We are having our AGM in Kabwe and this meeting is an ordinary one so we expect a good turn out from our affiliated members, the meeting is expected to start at exactly 11:00hrs and members should be seated before the agreed time,” Chama said.
Chama urged the members to turn up in numbers despite the AGM, though non-elective as the meeting was important as it would accord them the opportunity to contribute towards the running and development of sport.
He further called on affiliates to observe punctuality for the AGM that would be monitored by the Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) board members Mathilda Mwaba, who is responsible for cricket, and Haroon Ghumra who is the union honorary life member.
The AGM was initially scheduled to be held on March 29 at the Kabwe Government Lodge but was postponed to today owing to some commitments by some executive committee members.
