JUSTICE Minister Wynter Kabimba has reaffirmed Government’s position on coming up with a constitution in line with the demand by the citizens.
The Minister said the Patriotic Front (PF) Government will avail the Zambians a people-driven constitution and that there had not been a change in position over the matter.
Mr Kabimba, who is PF Secretary General, was speaking when he featured on KNC community radio in Kabwe yesterday.
“PF has no plans to manipulate the constitution as insinuated by some of opponents,” he said.
Mr Kabimba maintained that the PF had nothing to fear because it would win the 2016 general elections whether on the current or new constitution and called for calm among all Zambians.
The Minister said the PF would retain power in 2016 and beyond because of the trust and confidence people had in its leadership style.
Meanwhile, Mr Kabimba during a fundraising dinner on Saturday night, said no amount of ‘magic or  witchcraft’  would make the United Party for National Development (UPND) win  elections as its  popularity stood at 19 per cent.
The fund-raising dinner was organised by the PF in Central Province in Kabwe where Mr Kabimba was guest of honour.
He called for unity and discipline among the members.
“As  far as  we are  concerned,  we are well positioned to win the 2016 elections because people have  confidence in our governance system,”he said.
Mr Kabimba called for recruitment of new members at ward, branch, section, constituency and district levels.
Earlier, Central Province PF chairperson Benson Chali who was represented by the Information and Publicity Secretary Mutale Walichupa called for an end to squabbles in the party.
Mr Chali said squabbles threatened the strength of the party and hence the need to work as a team.
