MALAWIAN Chimangeni Zulu, who lost his manhood in bizarre circumstances, has claimed that his actions were driven by Satan.
In an insatiable desire to become rich, Zulu consulted a Chipata witchdoctor who instructed him to scarifice his body parts by going in the bush naked.
But he got more than he had bargained when a hyena bit off his manhood and three of his right toes.
“I believe in Satan too much, not God because I was initiated to get rich through the instruction of Satan,” he said from his hospital bed at Chipata General Hospital where he is admitted.
Mr Zulu explained that he was initially told by his mentors that he should be causing road accidents in order to become rich.
“Instead of causing road accidents, I chose the second instruction which was specifically that I should sacrifice parts of my body in order to become rich and I am sure I will still get rich because of the power of Satan,” he said.
Mr Zulu also vowed that he would not go back to Malawi but would stay in Zambia and marry a Zambian woman after healing from his wounds.
Mr Zulu said despite losing his manhood, his desire was to marry a Zambian woman and that he would not return to his wife with whom he has a child at Njenjewa Village of Chief Mulonyeni, Mchinji District in Malawi.
He explained that he loved women too much, adding that his latest predicament would not stop him from getting married.
Mr Zulu shocked the nurses including onlookers who visited him at the hospital when he said his marriage would be strengthened by Satan.
Traditional Health Practitioners of Zambia (THPAZ) president Dr Rodwell Vongo said it was regrettable that Mr Zulu had lost his manhood in a vain attempt to become rich.
Dr Vongo warned members of the public against going to unscrupulous witchdoctors in a bid to get wealth they have not earned.
“It is very regrettable that this man (Mr Zulu) lost his body parts in order to get rich, as THPAZ we shall not condone our members advising people to get rich through such circumstances,” he said.
Dr Vongo suspected that the hyena which ate Mr Zulu’s body parts was a human being which turned into an animal.
Mr Zulu, who is admitted to Ward B of Chipata General Hospital said he lost his body parts from hyena bite in his quest to become rich.
He said he followed the instruction of his instructors that whatever happened to him he should not be shocked because it was one way of getting rich.
