GOVERNMENT has urged women in the country to form and register clubs for them to have access to funding.
Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister Christopher Yaluma said at a rally at Mumba Basic School 100 Kilometres from Mungwi boma that Government attaches great importance to promoting women affairs hence the need for women to form and register clubs.
Mr Yaluma who is also Malole Member of Parliament in Northern Province said there were a lot of challenges affecting people in his constituency and emphasised on the need for them to work together.
“You should form clubs for you to access government funding for different projects, because the Government of Michael Chilufya Sata is committed to fulfill campaign promises made during the 2011 tripartite elections,” Mr Yaluma said.
He donated a hammer mill to Mumba Nutrition and Health Club to help the people raise funds for various income generating activities.
Mr Yaluma said Mumba Basic School would be turned into a secondary school to encourage education in the area, saying the Government was discouraging basic schools in the country.
At the same meeting, Mumba Village headman appealed to the Government to construct a police post to reduce crime levels in the area.
