Govt projects cheer West Chief

SENIOR Chief Inyambo Yeta of the Lozi people of Sesheke District in Western Province has said he is happy with the various developmental projects being undertaken by the Government and urged Zambians to give President Michael Sata chance to change the face of the country for better.

And the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) Indunas also hailed Government for continued developmental effects being undertaken in Western Province.

Chief Government spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya who paid a courtesy call on both Chief Inyambo-Yeta and the Indunas said that the traditional leaders were happy that Government was taking development to all places of the country including rural areas.

Mr Kapeya said in an interview when he concluded his tours of Shangombo and Mulobezi districts where he had gone to launch ZNBC’s radio one and two FM transmitters that it was gratifying to note that there were some traditional leaders that were supporting and appreciating government’s efforts to develop the country.

He said that the efforts of the PF Government were paying dividends under the leadership of Mr Sata who was passionate about developing the nation equally regardless of whether it was urban or rural.

“We appreciate the fact that we have some traditional leaders who are really following the efforts of this government. His royal highness Chief Yeta of Mwandi spoke high of developmental projects being carried out by this government and he is of the view that Zambians must give the PF government chance …this country indeed will change and it will be given a new face” Mr Kapeya.

Mr Kapeya said government was grateful that there were some traditional leaders that were appreciative of Government projects in rural areas.

The minister said the Indunas whom he had earlier met in Mongu at the Kuta equally expressed satisfaction of the developmental projects being implemented by the government.

Chief Mwanashibo of Mulobezi was equally happy with developmental projects taken to the rural district.

Chief Mwashibo told Mr Kapeya that the people of Mulobezi were happy to see an increased number of government officials visiting the area all in the quest of taking development to the area.

Mr Kapeya who is also Information and Broadcasting Services minister assured Zambians of Government’s continued commitment to develop the country and that it appreciated the role played by traditional rulers in all sectors of life.
