A TEACHER in Chisamba suspected to be in a sexual relationship with a fellow man has appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to two counts of sodomy.
This is in a case in which Jacob Botha, aged 36, a teacher, and Jackson Lungu, 22, a casual worker at Zesco, are alleged to have had carnal knowledge of each other against the order of nature.
This is contrary to section 155 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Botha and Lungu are alleged to have had carnal knowledge of each other between an unknown date in February and March 4, 2014.
They took plea yesterday before Chisamba Magistrate Joseph Chibwili and denied the charge slapped on them.
The court has since set April 16 as the date for trial while their police bond has been extended.
Recently, police arrested Botha and Lungu, both residents of Chisamba, for allegedly living as husband and wife for three years.
They were apprehended following investigations.
According to Section 155 sub-section (C) Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia, any person that has carnal knowledge against the order of nature is guilty of a felony and is liable to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour.
Two other men are currently appearing in a Kapiri Mposhi court for a similar  offence.
They are expected to continue with their defence this week after the court found them with a case to answer.
