THREE men in Choma have defiled a 15-year-old girl and left her unconscious.
The girl of Kabanana Township was defiled by three unknown men who left her bleeding.
She was admitted to Choma General Hospital where she was receiving treatment.
Police in Choma, the provincial capital of Southern Province, have since launched a manhunt for the suspects who are on the run.
Provincial deputy police commissioner Alfred Nawa yesterday confirmed the incident which happened on Friday between 18:00 hours and 24:00 hours.
Mr Nawa said in an interview that the three men dragged the girl into a bush within Kabanana Township where they took turns in defiling her.
He said the victim was only discovered by a resident who reported the matter to the police.
“When we received this case, we found the girl in an unconscious state while her private parts were severely bleeding. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” Mr Nawa said.
In another incident, Mr Nawa said a 12-year-old girl of Haboongo area in Chief Monze in Monze District was last week allegedly defiled by a man only identified as Benston, who had since been arrested.
