AS much as we understand the lack of employment the youths are facing, street garages should be a worry to the environmental council.
Cars are being fixed on sides of our roads, especially in Freetown road of Kitwe is source of environmental concern but no one seems to care.
The vendor mechanics spill the used oil they drain from vehicles onto the road and drainages, this is dangerous to both the environment and road safety as roads become slippery and rivers become contaminated from the mishandling of used oil.
Our streets are also left dirty with bricks and used parts that they leave behind.
Do we even have environmental inspectors in our country?
