ZAMPOST has appealed to Zambians to make use of the company’s newly introduced clearing and forwarding service when importing motor vehicles  from Japan to avoid being swindled.
Zampost regional manager for Central Province, Chewe Puta said the service was meant to benefit the local importers and protect them from being swindled.
Speaking when he handed over a motor vehicle to a Kabwe-based police officer, Assistant Superintendent Samuel Sakuwaha at the weekend, Mr Puta reaffirmed the company’s  commitment to ensuring the service benefited people.
Mr Puta explained that a number of people had lost money after paying for the purchase of motor vehicles online but said the introduction of the service to purchase vehicles through Zampost would serve as an insulation against the potential loss of money.
He said Zampost would continue to improve its service delivery by ensuring it was competitive but affordable and that it was happy to deliver the first vehicle this year to Mr Sakuwaha who used the Zampost clearing service.
And Mr Sakuwaha said he was happy that he used the facility and that his vehicle was delivered safely with all accessories such as triangles and fire extinguisher intact  and urged Zambians to use Zampost for a peace of mind.
“I am happy that I have received  my vehicle but in an event that the vehicle was involved in an accident, the insurance was going to buy a new one and the question of losing out does not arise,” he said.
Last year, Zampost and Trust Company of Japan launched an online sales agency for buyers of second hand vehicles.
