Copper output to hit 1m tonnes in 2025, says expert

ZAMBIA is this year positioned to attain one million tonnes copper production given the increased investments recorded in 2024, a mining expert Danny Mwila has said.
Mr Mwila said last year, the sector saw an increase in investments to revamp production and this positioned the industry to attain one million tonnes of copper by the end of 2025 from the current 900,000 tonnes.
He said in an interview that the increased investment in the mining sector had led to a slight rise in production of copper in Zambia.
