MORE than 1, 500 fatalities were recorded in more than 26, 000 road traffic accidents that occurred countrywide from January to October, this year, Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali has disclosed.
Mr Tayali said the 1, 585 fatalities recorded in 26, 528 accidents during that period in 2024 were compared to 2, 011 in 36, 755 road crashes from January to December, last year.
Mr Tayali said this in a speech read for him by Transport director Nkumbu Siame at this year’s World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims in Lusaka yesterday.
