THE Government says assertions that former President Edgar Lungu was attacked in Chingola on Sunday is a concocted story and an act of desperation aimed at attracting public sympathy.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana said Mr Lungu was neither attacked nor insulted by anyone after the requiem Church service of former Cabinet minister Chishimba Kabwili’s brothers, Mwamba and Mutale, who died in road traffic accident a week ago.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Kawana challenged Patriotic Front (PF)-faction information and publicity chairperson Emmanuel Mwamba and secretary general Raphael Nakacinda to produce evidence depicting the attack on Mr Lungu.
