THE Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and a Chinese company Jijia International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a US$37 million cholera vaccine plant in Lusaka.
The facility will be the first of its kind in Africa according to Jijia International company.
And speaking before the signing ceremony at State House yesterday President Hakainde Hichilema said that the project was extremely important because cholera had been a menace to the world.
He said cholera was disease of hygiene and it could be controlled through vaccines.
President Hichilema said that as a cholera control champion, the setting up of the plant was a step towards saving thousands of lives.
