THE World Bank has funded Zambia’s Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience project with US$50 million to run for a period of five years.
This is a part of a regional project aimed at strengthening the health system resilience and multi-sectoral preparedness and response to health emergencies in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Acting Health Minister Elias Mubanga said the investment targeted the entire country to benefit about 2,055 community health assistants, 75,000 community-based volunteers and healthcare workers at the primary health care level, strengthening of logistics and the logistics management system including information communication systems.
