FQM lauded for spending $1.6bn on local procurement

THE Ndola District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NDCCI ) has hailed First Quantum Minerals (FQM) on its $1.6billion on local procurement.
NDCCI president Joseph Malisawa said this would help grow local businesses.
Mr Malisawa commended FQM and the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) for their strategic partnership and collaboration to increase local procurement.
He said with $1.6 billion procurement spent in 2023, 88 percent was from locally registered companies and 44 percent of that were Zambian-owned companies.
