Zambia picks up win at Chess Olympiads

NATIONAL chess champion Chitumbo Mwali believes Zambia is still on course to win a gold medal in their section after picking up a win in the seventh round of the ongoing World Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary.
Mwali, who is an International Master (IM) in an interview yesterday, said games were now getting intense.
“We are still there though. We just beat Nigeria yesterday. It was a critical game and in the end, secured the win for us, we are hopeful today (yesterday) we can take down Finland,” he said.
He said his team was focused on the qualification spot for the gold medal in their C Section.
