FAO, ZDA partner to bridge $1.1bn investment gap

THE Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) are collaborating towards bridging the US$1.1 billion investment gap in the maize, soya beans, honey and aquaculture value-chains.
To achieve their shared objectives, the two parties organised an investment forum through the Hand In Hand Initiative (HIHI) to attract the required investments to sustainably grow the named value-chains.
Speaking during the investment forum, Agriculture Minister Reuben Mtolo said this was an opportunity to attract long-term finance for investments for the sustainable growth of the country’s agriculture sector.
