FORMER Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo has told the court that he will prove that Mimbula Consortium Mining Limited paid him US$350,000 for consultancy works he did for the mine.
In this case Lusambo and his wife Nancy Manase are charged with 10 counts of being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime in Lusaka and the Copperbelt.
He said that because of the money that he was being paid by Mimbula Mining, he was living a comfortable life even before he joined politics.
“I was living a very comfortable life before joining politics because I was able to buy any property or item of my choice. During my time before politics, I managed to buy properties such as houses, land and vehicles.
