SOME opposition members have backed President Hakainde Hichilema’s recent working visit to China describing it as a milestone in the beginning of the nation’s renaissance in the power sector.
The leaders have called on all patriotic Zambians to rally behind and support the President’s efforts in stabilising the electricity sector which has been exacerbated by a regional power deficit brought about largely by a climate change drought.
In separate interviews Patriotic Front (PF)’s Msanzala of Member of Parliament (MP) Elias Daka and his Kanchibiya counterpart Sunday Chanda paid glowing tribute to President Hichilema for making timely and workable interventions for the improvement and diversification of the power mix on the sector which had not seen tangible makeovers in more than 55 years, particularly in renewable energy development.
