Yalelo commends Govt on growth of fishing industry

YALELO Zambia co-founder Fisho Mwale has commended Government for creating enabling environment for growth of the aquaculture sector in the country.
Speaking when Fisheries and Livestock Minister Peter Kapala toured Yalelo fish cages on Lake Kariba in Siavonga, Mr Mwale said the fishing industry was doing well in terms of the growth especially the commercial aquaculture.
Mr Mwale informed the minister who was in Siavonga to familiarize himself with the operations of the aquaculture industry that Yalelo which was the biggest fish farm in the sub Sahara Africa was now producing 15,000 tonnes of tilapia fish per year which had been a tremendous achievement in the past 10 years for the company’s growth.
