THE Zambia Army has stepped in to work with other security wings to clamp down on juvenile delinquents commonly known as ‘junkies’ and illegal mining.
Army deputy Major General and Chief of Staff Geoffrey Zyeele noted that ‘junkies’ have become a security threat and a plan was already underway to end their terror.
Major General Zyeele said this in Ndola yesterday when he paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo.
“We are aware that junkies are now taking part in security threats, especially during the night. This is being addressed at the highest level and soon instruction will be issued to the Provincial Joint Operations Command (PJOC) on how this will be addressed,” he said.
