AGRICULTURE Minister Reuben Mtolo says banks have mobilised more than K1.2 billion towards the Sustainable Agriculture Financing Facility (SAFF), commonly known as the Credit Window.
Mr Mtolo also said farmers should not to be misled about the SAFF as the loans that were being offered under the Credit Window were collateral-free.
He said nine banks had so far partnered with the Government to finance the SAFF, which was an innovative programme of offering cheap loans to farmers.
Mr Mtolo said in an interview in Lusaka on Tuesday that the banks included NATSAVE, Zanaco, Absa, Access and Ecobank, among others.
