Airtel Zambia nets K3.1bn revenue

AIRTEL Network Zambia has recorded total revenue of K3.1 billion, up by 21 per cent in the half year ending June 30, this year.
The company revenue increased to K3.172 billion from K2.615 billion recorded last year during the same period.
According to the half year results posted by the Lusaka Securities Exchange Commission, (LuSE), the customer base increased to 10.47 million representing a 10 percent increase.
The company stated that it recorded an operating profit of K 1.105 billion, up by 13 percent.
“The profit after tax was at K 427 million, from K470 million in the prior period. This was mainly due to increase in finance and foreign exchange costs,” the company stated.
