THE Government is committed to working with the private sector in its ambitious agenda to develop infrastructure in the country in order to spur economic development, President Hakainde Hichilema has said.
Mr Hichilema said Zambia was centrally located and needed to be land-linked through the Lobito Corridor, which was expected to connect neighbouring countries such as Angola for easy transportation of minerals among other products.
Speaking when Mota-Engil, a Portuguese company that specialises in construction, engineering, airports, railway development and energy called on him at State House yesterday, Mr Hichilema commended the firm for its resolve to explore areas of investment in Zambia.
He said the Government was committed to ensuring that key rail infrastructure such as the Lobito and Tazara corridors were worked on expeditiously to open up the way to the Great Lakes region among other areas.
