PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has urged Zambians at home and abroad to take advantage of the energy crisis that has affected the country by investing in the sector.
The President also appealed to banks to create products that would support indigenous Zambians who wanted to invest in the energy sector, individually or collectively.
Mr Hichilema said Zambians should invest in the energy sector as demand outstripped supply and that the policy and investment climate was conducive.
Mr Hichilema said this when he officiated at the first-ever Energy Forum for Africa Conference in Lusaka yesterday.
“We want to bring Zambian citizens to invest in the energy sector, instead of just wanting to be traders and tenderpreneurs,” he said.
