COMMERCE, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga and Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo have been dispatched to Lubumbashi to meet their counterparts in to resolve the security concerns at the three borders that were closed last week.
And the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) has raised alarm at the banning of exports of lime, beer and soft drinks to DRC, saying manufacturers of the commodities will suffer losses and may be forced to lay off workers.
Speaking during a media briefing alongside Mr Matambo in Kasumbalesa yesterday, Mr Mulenga said the engagement would result in resolving the security concerns leading to the opening of the borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
