WOMEN Fide Master (WFM) Naomi Mwale is confident Zambian players will perform well during Zone 4.5 Championship that starts today in Lusaka following the arrival of foreign players.
The tournament was set to start yesterday but was moved to Monday to allow for the arrival of foreign players from Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
Mwale said in an interview yesterday that she would use the competition to measure herself in readiness for the Olympiads.
“I am well prepared and I want to use the Zone 4.5 as a measure for my readiness for the Olympiads. I know the competition has attracted elite players in the ladies section but we all have equal chances of winning,” she said.
