LACK of sponsorship has prompted Konkola Rugby Club to seek approval from the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) to have the memorial tournament that was set for this weekend in Chililabombwe postponed.
The tournament is held in honour of the former Konkola, ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka and national Sevens player and coach Owen Busange, who died in 2011.
Busange died in a road traffic accident on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriageway on March 26, 2011 along with two Lusaka players Kapasa Bwalya and Mwango Katema in two separate road traffic accidents as the team was returning from Kitwe after competing in the American rugby tournament while seven players were left injured.
