THE Government, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and World Food Programme (WFP), has launched a Food Security Drought Response Assistance project to provide food to 512,000 individuals hardest hit by the drought.
The US$20 million project, funded by the USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Affairs and to be implemented by the WFP in Western, Southern, Eastern and Central provinces, also aimed to support the livelihoods of 30,000 households to restore agricultural production capabilities.
