Court grants embattled PF MPs some relief

THE Lusaka High Court has ordered that the decision to declare vacant the nine parliamentary seats held by Patriotic Front (PF) Members of parliament (MPs) be stayed until the case in which they are challenging the Speaker’s decision to declare their seats vacant is heard by the court.
High Court Judge Susan Wenjelani also granted leave to all the nine MPs to apply for judicial review of the Speaker’s decision.
The nine are Mporokoso’s Brian Mundubile, Shiwang’andu’s Stephen Kamyongo, Ronald Chitotela of Pambashe and Nickson Chilangwa for Kawambwa Central Constituency.
