Onion importation ends

THE importation of onions from South Africa which commenced in March this year, has come to an end as local farmers are now able to satisfy the local market.
Zambia Fruits and Vegetables Association (ZFVA) Association General Secretary Gideon Kalima said in an interview that local farmers were now able to supply enough to meet the local market.
Mr Kalima said onions had started flowing into the market from Southern, Eastern, Central and Lusaka Provinces that were the major producers of the commodity.
