NEWLY recruited local government officers have been directed to help stop revenue leakages in local authorities to enhance service delivery.
The officers have been deployed to councils in Western, Southern, North- Western, Central and Copperbelt provinces.
Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary in charge of administration, Mambo Hamaundu urged the new staff to be accountable, competent and professional in the discharge of their duties.
Mr Hamaundu said this when he closed a five-day intensive induction training for the newly-recruited officers under the local government system at Chalimbana Local Government Training Institute (CLGTI) in Chongwe District at the weekend.
