ZAMBIA coach Chisi Mbewe says lessons have been learnt as the record seven-times COSAFA Cup champions started the title defence with an embarrassing defeat against guest nation Kenya with captain Kelvin Kapumbu earning a red card.
Earlier, Zimbabwe beat Comoros in the Group B opening match and defeat for Zambia, chasing an unprecedented third title win in a row was left on the back foot already with two more matches to play.
Only the top team in each of the three pools and the best placed runner-up advance to the semifinals this year, meaning it is all to play for and any slip-ups put teams on the back foot.
