PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has implored the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to be wary of some individuals who are in the habit of using religion, political affiliation and ethnic persuasion to attempt to cover up the crimes they commit.
The President said over the years the country had begun to celebrate businessmen who were simply petty thieves and confused it with lack of democratic space.
“You commit a crime, and then you run to the church, political party and ethnic persuasion. I think these are issues the commission must begin to look at,” he said.
