SPORTS Minister Elvis Nkandu has told the women’s under-17 national team to keep their heads low until they see-off Morocco in the final qualifying match for the 2024 Dominican Republic FIFA Women’s World Cup this weekend.
Speaking in an interview after watching the game, the minister urged the team to remain focused so they qualify for the World Cup.
He described the victory as a sweet revenge after the Chipolopolo’s loss to Morocco in Agadir a few hours earlier.
“It’s a good revenge for Friday’s loss in Agadir and relief because the girls are 90 percent through to the Dominican Republic World Cup. We are a step closer and can only urge the girls to keep the focus and finish off the job in Morocco.
