Inflation rises to 14.7 p.c. – ZAMSTAT

ZAMBIA’s annual inflation rate for May has risen to 14.7 per cent from 13.8-per cent recorded in April, 2024, the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTAT) has said.
The agency said in its monthly bulletin for Zambia posted a K2.4-billion trade surplus for April this year.
ZAMSTAT Statistician General Goodson Sinyenga said the increase in inflation meant that on average prices of goods and services moved by 14.7 per cent between May 2023 and May 2024.
