Syakalima calls for more investment in STEM capacity building

EDUCATION Minister Douglas Syakalima says there is a need to invest in capacity building to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in order to develop human capital in Africa.
Mr Syakalima said STEM education had the capacity to enhance development in Zambia and Africa at large because it produced learners who were self motivated, creative and productive with values and skills and knowledge.
He said at the official closure of the 2024 Knowledge Co-creation Programme Course which started at the beginning of this month at the National Science Center in Lusaka yesterday that the course came at a better time when the education curriculum was migrating from learning outcomes to competences.
