THE Mine Workers Union of Zambia (MUZ) says the Sinozam College of Science and Technology will provide skills needed by the mining sector for the country to achieve three-million-tonne copper production per annum.
MUZ president Joseph Chewe said in an interview that Zambia was grappling with 800 tonnes of copper production due to limited skills to match with trends in the mining sector.
Mr Chewe said the mining sector has evolved from manual mining to the use of advanced machinery which promotes high efficiency and productivity.
