Millers target 1.8m tonnes maize

MILLERS have started securing maize and are targeting to buy 1.8 million tonnes to cater for the country’s consumption.
Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) president Andrew Chintala said in an interview that the 1.8 million t o n n e s targeted for this year would help sustain both human and animal consumption.
Mr Chintala said despite the droughts which led to crop failure in some parts of the country, there was a need for millers to start securing maize.
