‘Mines should do more for SMEs’

THE Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) has called on mining companies to put in place policies for them to offer more supplying businesses to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
ZIPS observed that while the mining sector was growing, SMEs had remained stagnant.
ZIPS president Daniel Kabamba said in an interview that there was need for mines to put in place programmes that would help SMEs supplier development and optimisation of their operations.
