PROPERTY worth over K288 million was stolen in the first quarter of 2024 compared to K113 million in the same period last year, a Zambia police report has revealed.
Meanwhile, Police has also recorded a total number of 18, 219 criminal cases countrywide during the first quarter of 2024 as compared to 17, 486 cases recorded under the same period in the year 2023.
Police public relations officer Rae Hamoonga said the total value of property recovered was K21,572,427 as compared to K30,762,016 in the first quarter of 2023 and the total value of property damaged was K2,8932,276 as compared to K2,520,610 for the 2023 first quarter during the period under review.
