Kabwe in good start at Namibia Chess tourney

ZAMBIA’S Timothy ‘Komodo’ Kabwe picked up back-to-back wins in the opening two rounds to jointly lead the 2024 Bank Windhoek Namibian Open Chess tournament.
Kabwe ranked third at the start of the competition, opened the contest with a win over Junior Heita and then beat Clive Campbell, both from the host country.
Despite a perfect start, Kabwe found himself trailing on an inferior tiebreaker to sit in second position as Zimbabwe’s International Master (IM) Robert Gwaze led the pack on a superior tiebreaker.
