THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province has advised people in the area to shun  opposition civic leaders working to frustrate development projects.
Provincial political secretary Simalonga Siachoona said the party would not condone politicking by some councillors who delay to implement various projects in the province.
Speaking when he featured on a live programme dubbed ‘Your Leader’ on Macha Community Radio in Choma recently, Mr Siachoona said Government was carrying out various developmental projects to improve the living standards of Zambians.
“If a developmental project is delayed by a civic leader or Member of Parliament, as residents, you have the right to question your leader because he doesn’t want to work for you,” he said in response to callers who asked why development was lagging in some rural areas.
Mr Siachoona urged councillors to be proactive and improve communication with their electorate to enable them work collectively in addressing challenges.
He said the PF was working diligently and that the province was benefiting from Government’s development projects which were creating numerous job opportunities.
PF Choma District political secretary Gloria Mapani said the party was implementing effective mobilisation strategies to strengthen the party structures in Choma.
She said the joining of many people from opposition political parties to the PF in the province was a positive signal that the ruling party was growing due to President Michael Sata’s tireless efforts to develop Zambia.
