A JUDICIARY stores officer and two University Teaching Hospital (UTH) employees have been jailed five years each for stealing a newborn at the health facility in Lusaka.
Lusaka Resident Magistrate Christopher Hapungani sentenced the convicts, Precious Nkunika, a judiciary stores officer, Emily Hall, a nutrition demonstrator and Rebecca Mkandawire, a UTH maid, in Lusaka yesterday.
Mr Hapungani also sentenced Nkunika’s mother, Grace Siska, to two years imprisonment for harbouring a stolen baby.
He acquitted Nelly Kasalo, who was the fourth accused person, for lack of evidence.
