THE United Party for National Development (UPND) administration has in the last two and half years of being in office achieved significant reforms in the actualising the decentralisation agenda.
The allocation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in the National Budget now stands at K30.6 million per constituency from a paltry K1.6 million found when the UPND was ushered into office in 2021.
“Additionally, 51,474 employees have been deployed from central government to the local level in line with devolved functions, with 116 district human resource management committees formed and operationalised, while 1,585 Ward Development Committees (WDCs) are in place and operational,” the mid-term achievements of the UPND Government fact sheet reads.
