HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo says Malaria continues to be a major public health problem for Zambia with half of the deaths recorded last year being children.
She noted that last year, the country recorded a 37 per cent increase in malaria cases from 8.1 million in 2022 to 11.1 million in 2023.
Ms Masebo said that during the same period, a 19 per cent increase of malaria deaths was recorded from 1, 343 in 2022 to 1, 602 in 2023.
